Cannabis-Infused Fry Bread: A Fun Step-by-Step Guide

NativeCare Kitchen Presents

Cannabis-Infused Fry Bread

A modern twist on a traditional classic
Fry bread has been shared for generations—soft inside, golden outside—a symbol of community, culture, and comfort. At NativeCare, we honor that tradition with a mindful twist: a cannabis-infused version that blends heritage, healing, and a little modern creativity.

INGREDIENTS

Infusion:

  • 1/2 cup butter, ghee, or neutral oil
  • 2–3 grams decarboxylated cannabis

Fry Bread Dough:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp sugar (optional)
  • 3/4–1 cup warm water
  • 1 Tbsp oil (optional)

For Frying:

  • Neutral oil, about 1 inch deep

STEP-BY-STEP

1. Decarb the Cannabis
Preheat oven to 240°F. Bake broken-up flower for 35–40 minutes until lightly toasted.

2. Infuse the Butter or Oil
Simmer cannabis in your fat of choice on low heat (160–180°F) for 30 minutes. Strain through cheesecloth.

3. Make the Dough
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add water and oil until dough is soft but not sticky. Knead briefly and rest 10 minutes.

4. Shape & Fry
Divide dough into 8 balls. Flatten into 1/4-inch rounds. Heat oil to 350–375°F and fry each piece 45–60 seconds per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.

5. Dose Carefully
Brush 1 teaspoon of infused butter on each warm piece for approximately 10 mg THC per bread (depending on potency).

RESPECT THE BREAD

Start low and go slow. Effects from edibles can take 30–120 minutes to begin and may last up to 8 hours. Label and store infused foods safely—never mix infused and non-infused pieces.
