When you think about the future of hip-hop—raw, unfiltered, politically urgent, and culturally rich—one name should come immediately to mind: Snotty Nose Rez Kids.
The Haisla Nation duo, Young D (Darren Metz) and Yung Trybez (Quinton Nyce), burst onto the scene with an explosive mix of trap beats, activist bars, and powerful Indigenous identity. What started in Kitamaat Village, British Columbia, has erupted into a global movement—and we at NativeCare are proud to be a part of it.
A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS
Snotty Nose Rez Kids aren’t just rappers. They are torchbearers. Through razor-sharp lyrics and booming production, they’ve given a voice to a generation of Indigenous youth long underrepresented in popular culture. Their music tackles everything from systemic racism and colonial trauma to joy, resilience, and the complexity of modern Indigenous life.
Their breakthrough came with The Average Savage (2017)—an album so vital and real, it earned them a Polaris Music Prize shortlisting and a Juno nomination. Since then, they’ve only gotten louder, sharper, and more unflinching. And people are listening.
Their 2021 track “Boujee Natives” flipped stereotypes on their heads and earned over 2 million YouTube views, becoming an anthem for proud, unapologetic Indigenous identity.
And with 2023’s “Damn Right”, they made history again—earning the coveted Prism Prize for music video excellence, thanks to the surreal Beatles-inspired visuals crafted by director Sterling Larose.
A LIVE SHOW UNLIKE ANY OTHER
SNRK shows aren’t just concerts—they’re celebrations of sovereignty, resistance, and rhythm. The duo brings sweat, soul, and stunning visuals to every stage. Expect crowd chants, raw emotion, and moments that make you laugh, cry, and throw your fists in the air.
Which is why we are beyond honored to host them right here at NativeCare for our 2-Year Anniversary Bash on August 2nd.
This isn’t just a show. It’s a homecoming. It’s a family reunion. It’s a turning point in the cannabis and culture scene in Minnesota. We’ve been building something real here, and having Snotty Nose Rez Kids headline our celebration? That’s a full-circle moment.
